BUFF - the first independent film festival in Bergen

Taking place at the multi-disciplinary venue Østre, the festival showcases independent experimental and art-house film works of high quality, carefully selected to entertain while raising questions to reflect upon. In addition to mainly being a film festival, we want all aspects of art to overspill into the different borders and to question limitations. As such, 6 exciting artists to help transform the entire space with their art, softly curated to follow our ideology of being balanced somewhere between comfort and progression.

Our aim is to create an inclusive framework for filmmakers in Bergen and to invite the international community of filmmakers to the city, and for that reason we have received submissions from all over the world. Whether it’s for the art, the cinema, the people, or the unconventionality, we are inviting the entirety of Bergen to experience an unforgettable event.

The festival is a non-profit organisation supported by Bergen Municipality and co-produced by Østre.
